Pharmacist Travel Position - Aurora, Colorado
Job Summary
- Collaborate with the Director of Pharmacy to compound and dispense medications according to physician prescriptions.
- Participate in hospital Performance Improvement plans.
- Consult and advise Administration, Medical Staff, and hospital staff on quality, regulatory, and risk issues.
- Support and serve as a consultant to clinical and Medical Staff.
- Assist in coordinating and implementing Pharmacy activities.
- Interpret medication orders and ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and professional pharmacy standards.
- Supervise technical support staff and assist with clinical, quality management, and education programs.
- Provide pharmaceutical support for adult and geriatric patients (ages 18 and older).
- Maintain and disseminate drug information through education and consultation.
- Assist other Pharmacists and Technicians with routine duties.
- Exercise professional judgment in therapeutic and drug information.
- Manage medication orders, ensuring safety and appropriateness based on patient factors (height, weight, age, renal function, disease state).
- Monitor pharmacokinetics dosing and modify doses as needed.
- Maintain aseptic techniques and pharmacy security, including controlled substances.
- Prioritize work to prepare STAT, Now, and Waiting orders.
- Float between Aurora and Denver facilities (approximately 3 days Aurora / 1 day Denver).

- Patient Population: Adult and Geriatric (18 years and older)
- Additional Notes:
- Must be capable of entering a minimum of 40 orders per four-hour shift.
- Candidate will float between two facilities as needed.
- Must have knowledge of pharmacokinetics dosing and medication safety protocols.
