Job Description

This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room (OR) at a state-of-the-art acute care hospital serving a tri-state area. The hospital features private patient rooms and a variety of specialized units including medical/surgical, acute rehabilitation, intensive care, and labor/delivery.

Unit Profile

• Department: Operating Room
• Number of Openings: 1
• Shift: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
• Weekly Hours: 40 (guaranteed)
• Call Requirements: Evenly shared with other OR RNs; call usually starts at 5:00 PM
• Weekend Hours: Only for on-call coverage
• Float Requirements: May float to PACU as a second RN
• Beds: 6 OR beds, 1 Endoscopy suite
• Patient Ratios: 1:1
• Patient Population: 70% adult, 28% geriatric, 2% pediatric
• Type of Patients: 90% outpatient, 10% inpatient
• Equipment: New Olympus laparoscopic/endo equipment, Steris beds, Hana table
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Medhost and CQI

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona (Compact RN accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year
• Minimum 1+ years of experience in an acute care facility
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• Experience in Endoscopy, Orthopedic Surgery, and Obstetrics/Gynecology (OB/GYN) OR nursing
