Job Opportunity: RN - Post Anesthesia Care (PACU)

Job Description

• Night position on a 23-hour overnight stay unit specializing in Cardiac Cath/EP, TAVR, and vascular experience (vascular experience is a must).
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour shift)
• Weekend call required every other weekend (rotating call schedule).
• Float requirements: Must float as needed to Bramhall PACU, IMC, and ICU units.
• Patient population includes Cath/EP, TEE Cardioversion OR procedures, Pre-Post Vascular, Robotic TAVRs, and Pediatric CATHs.
• Unit has 40 pre/post beds and 9 overnight bays with a patient ratio of 2:1 in Phase 1 care (up to 3-4 patients in 23-hour stay).
• Equipment used includes IV pumps, PCAs, epidurals, arterial lines, telemetry monitoring, TEE/CV.
• EMR system: Epic.

Required Qualifications

• Specialty: PACU - Pre-Operative and Post-Operative nursing.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of PACU experience (higher of 2 and 3 years required).
• ICU experience required.
• Trauma Level 1 experience required.
• Must be able to read telemetry strips.
• Experience with cardiac drips, IVs, telemetry monitoring, Phase 1 care, groin management, and EKGs.
• Prior travel experience is required.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS.
• Must be a team player with excellent communication skills and a flexible, can-do attitude.

Additional Information

• Weekend call every other weekend is mandatory.
• Dress code: Scrubs of any color; fragrance-free environment.
• Unacceptable attire: Artificial nails and cell phone use during shifts.
