Unit Information

• Unit: Respiratory Therapy at a 437-bed hospital
• Staffing:

  • Total Staff: ~60
  • Day Shift: Director, Manager, Supervisor, 8-10 RRTs
  • Night Shift: Supervisor, 8-10 RRTs
• Patient Load: Approximately 44-46 procedures per shift
• Equipment Used:

  • Servo I ventilators
  • Nebulizer
  • Hamilton ventilators
  • V60 ventilators
  • Astral CPAP & BiPAP machines
  • ABGs (Arterial Blood Gases)
  • CPT (Chest Physiotherapy)
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Florida
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience
• Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• NBRC certification
• NRP certification
• PALS certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Trauma experience
• Previous experience with Meditech EMR preferred

Typical Procedures

• Treatment, care, and evaluation of patients with:

  • Respiratory insufficiencies
  • Asthma
  • Pneumonia
  • Emphysema
