Facility: Medical Surgical Unit (54 beds)
Position Details

Licenses & Certifications
- Nevada RN license required prior to start
- BLS certification required
Experience
- Minimum 2+ years Medical-Surgical experience required
Unit Description
- 54-bed Medical Surgical unit providing multidisciplinary care
- Patient population includes adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- Conditions treated include renal, hepatic, respiratory, cardiac, neurologic, psychiatric, infectious diseases, cellulitis, COPD, diabetes, alcohol withdrawal, pneumonia, sepsis, and more
- Diverse patient population ranging from 18 years old to geriatric
Job Responsibilities
- Provide optimal patient care using nursing knowledge and skills
- Accountable for individualized patient outcomes over entire episode of care
- Comprehensive nursing services to patients and families/caregivers
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals as needed
- May be required to float within competency level
- Required to pick up one additional shift during schedule period
- Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays (holiday shifts count as Eve + Day = 1 holiday)
- Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
Work Environment
- Extremely busy, fast-paced Level II Trauma Center
- Hospital serves a 500-mile radius with high patient volume
- Stroke accredited, 800 inpatient beds
- Work pace comparable to a Level I trauma center
Additional Notes
- The facility reserves the right to call off shifts (full or partial) with 48 hours notice for low census during the 13-week contract
- Intensive continuous mental effort required for safe patient care and decision-making

This travel RN position offers the opportunity to work in a high-acuity, multidisciplinary medical surgical unit within a busy Level II Trauma Center. Ideal candidates will have strong Med-Surg experience, be adaptable to floating and schedule changes, and be prepared to work nights and holidays.
