Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg / Rehab

Location: Windsor, Vermont
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Coordinate total nursing care for patients
• Participate in patient and family teaching
• Provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel
• May be asked to work as a backup Charge Nurse
• Nurse to patient ratio: 1 to 4/5
• Average daily patient census: 22
• EMR system: Cerner
• 8-hour non-billable orientation required
• Call-back, holiday, and overtime shifts available
• No block scheduling or schedule accommodations will be considered
• Requested time off must be submitted and approved before assignment start; no more than 5 days off allowed during assignment
• Local travelers (within 50 miles) are not eligible
• Candidate must have their own vehicle due to lack of public transportation

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years recent Med Surg & Rehab experience
• Charge RN experience required
• Previous travel experience of at least 3 months required
• BSN preferred
• Ability to float between Acute Rehab and Med Surg units
• Must hold current Vermont RN license (Compact license allowed)
• Certifications required:

  • ACLS (AHA)
  • BLS (AHA)

• 35-bed critical access community hospital
• 25 inpatient medical-surgical beds and a 10-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit
• Features include a therapeutic pool, physical therapy department, acute care, transitional care, and hospice services

• Windsor, VT offers access to outdoor recreation and is within driving distance to Boston, Montreal, and New York City
