Job Summary

• Provide nursing care based on the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and physicians to coordinate care.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families, including discharge and aftercare planning.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for patients and staff in individual and group settings.
• Document and report all necessary patient information according to policies.
• Monitor and report any potential safety risks to patients.
• Function as a clinical leader by delegating and coordinating staff assignments and promoting staff development.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and resource management.
• May be responsible for training direct care staff, medication oversight, scheduling, staffing, and obtaining pre-authorizations.
• Uphold professional standards, demonstrate excellent customer service, and embody the organization’s mission and values.
• Support a recovery-focused, person-centered approach in community residential settings.
• Maintain competency through annual training and programmatic education.
• May serve as charge nurse.

Required Qualifications

• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Michigan.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is highly preferred.
• Professional knowledge of psychiatric nursing theory preferred (completion of accredited nursing education required).
• Previous clinical experience preferred; new graduates considered, preferably with psychiatric or emergency department experience.
• Ability to provide culturally inclusive care to diverse populations.
• Physical and emotional stamina to meet the complex needs of behavioral health patients.
• Analytical skills to collect, interpret, and communicate complex patient data.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license and ability to access transportation vehicles may be required.
