Job Opportunity: RRT (Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics) - Travel/Contract

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work every other weekend is required.
• Experience with adult patients, adult critical care, and emergency department (ED) settings is required.
• Level 1 Trauma center experience and teaching hospital experience are required.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system is required.
• Dress code: Khaki or black bottoms with royal blue tops.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in Missouri.
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year.
• Experience working with adult patients and Level 1 Trauma patients.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
• Criminal background check within 12 months prior to start, including SSN trace, 7-year county residence/work history, nationwide search, and sex offender search.
• Missouri-specific background checks and registries (MO EDL Search, MO Family Care Safety Registry) required prior to start.
• E-Verify compliance required.
• Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health.
• Negative drug screen within 12 months prior to start.
• TB testing (PPD, Qgold, or TSPOT) within 12 months; chest X-ray within 5 years if prior positive PPD.
• Annual TB questionnaire.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season.
• COVID vaccination series preferred but not mandatory.
• OSHA Respirator Clearance required prior to start to allow onsite fit testing.
• Fit testing for respirators will be completed onsite during the first week of orientation; clean-shaven requirement for fit test at this facility.
• Photo for badge (passport style, plain background) required.
• Completion of facility-specific confidentiality, security, and ethical conduct agreements prior to start.
• Completion of required orientation modules and post-start orientation checklists.
• Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable.
• NIH Stroke Certification required for ICU, ED, and related units (must be updated annually).

Additional Notes

• Candidates will be fit tested onsite during orientation; failure to provide fit test results within two weeks may result in removal from assignment.
• Candidates must complete respirator fit test forms and bring them on the first day.
• Some certifications and trainings (e.g., AbioMed Impella Online Training) may be required depending on unit assignment.
• Medication/pharmacology competency exams and dysrhythmia/EKG competency exams may be required depending on unit.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification is required only for behavioral health and emergency room staff (not applicable here).

This position offers a travel contract opportunity for respiratory therapists with critical care and trauma experience, working night shifts in a Level 1 trauma teaching hospital environment.
