Registered Nurse - PCU Float (Travel/Contract)

Location: Wichita Falls, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Position primarily supports Medical-Surgical units with floating responsibilities.
• Work schedule requires agreement to a 36/48 hour alternating schedule.
• Shift options: Day shift, either 3 or 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM).
• Weekend work is required, potentially most weekends during the contract. Block scheduling may be accommodated but set schedules are not guaranteed.
• Preferred start date within 3-5 weeks from offer.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU), with at least some experience within the last year.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Prior travel nursing experience.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
• Background check (renewed annually).
• E-Verify or attestation.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing).
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start.
• Required immunizations/vaccinations with documentation or valid exemptions:

  • Flu vaccine (seasonal, with medical/religious exemption option).
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination).
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer required.
  • Varicella - 2 vaccines, positive titer, or history of chickenpox.
  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years.
• Negative drug screen (9 panel) within 1 year of start.
• COVID vaccination documentation required.
• References: 2 references within the last 3 years.
• Employment application and resume required.
• Annual updates required for background check, skills checklist, and orientation safety manual acknowledgment.

Additional Notes

• Must be agreeable to floating between units.
• Block scheduling may be accommodated but fixed schedules are not guaranteed.
• Candidate must complete facility-specific documents and acknowledgments prior to start.
• Orientation and compliance training required as per facility policies.

This position is ideal for experienced travel Registered Nurses comfortable with flexible scheduling, floating assignments, and working in a fast-paced PCU/Med-Surg environment.
