Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

- Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (07:00 - 17:30)
- Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend (may vary with vacation)
- On-call: Yes, required
- Floating: Yes, within scope to Interventional Radiology (IR) and Neuro IR, including potential pre/post-op support
Job Description
- Support pain procedures, preparation, and recovery procedures in Interventional Radiology
- Respond to urgent/emergent interventional procedural needs (e.g., Code Stroke, STEMI, Trauma, IR Body)
- Work includes 12-hour shifts in Radiology department for urgent/emergent cases and sedation/anesthesia recovery
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Interventional Radiology, with at least some experience within the last year
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Emergency Department (ED)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Required Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA only
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA only
Required Licensure
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Washington State
- Pending licenses are NOT accepted

Background Checks & Compliance
- 7-year criminal background check required within 45 days of start, including nationwide and sex offender searches

Competency & Testing Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (minimum 80% in dosage calculations)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (minimum 80%, max 2 attempts; required for this role)
- Pass/fail orientation testing with 80% passing score required
- Conscious sedation competency exam may be required depending on assignment specifics
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year (not required by facility but required by agency)
- Mask fit test within 12 months (specific mask models required)
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or documented declination
- Negative TB test (Qgold, Tspot, or 2-step PPD within 90 days) or chest X-ray if positive TB history
- Annual TB questionnaire (except Micro Lab)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Titer or 2 vaccines required; declination allowed with documentation
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer or completed vaccine series with re-titer; declination allowed with documentation
- Varicella: Titer or 2 vaccines required; declination allowed with documentation
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (Sept 29 - Mar 31)
- COVID vaccination or declination required for tracking purposes
Additional Requirements
- 2 professional references required (no upload needed)
- Badge photo required (professional, waist-up, clear lighting, simple background)
- Completion and signing of facility-specific documents including license acknowledgment, equipment safety, health history, policies and procedures, job description, PCIS agreement, personal data form, and code of conduct
- WA state multi-state licensed nurses must complete suicide prevention training and demographic attestation prior to start

- Locals are accepted; no block scheduling accommodation
- Candidates must complete all pending license requirements (e.g., fingerprinting) before starting
- Facility provides orientation and ongoing education including annual stroke education for relevant units
- Drug screening required by agency within past 12 months; pending drug screens at start are at agency discretion
This position is ideal for experienced RNs with ED, ICU, and Interventional Radiology backgrounds interested in a travel contract supporting interventional radiology procedures in a high-acuity, Level I trauma teaching hospital environment.
