Job Opportunity: CT Tech

Location: Richmond, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Evening (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM), 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (40 hours/week)

Job Description

• Position involves working Monday through Friday.
• Experience with Siemens equipment is required.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system is required.
• Local candidates are allowed to apply.

Required Qualifications

• Valid CT Technologist license in Virginia.
• Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Certifications

• National certification as a CT Technologist or relevant Radiology certification.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA only).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA only).
• Other certifications may be required based on unit specifics (refer to unit job descriptions).

Background and Compliance Checks

• Criminal background check within 60 days of start, including all states lived/worked in past 7 years.
• State and nationwide background screenings including sex offender registry.
• Education verification required (degree or certification from an accredited program).
• E-Verify/I9 attestation required.
• Virginia State Police fingerprint-based national criminal background check required for certain units.
• Central Registry Search (CPS) required for specific units and candidates; must be initiated within 48 hours of contract signing.
• Drug screening within 60 days of start; 9-panel minimum (marijuana not required).
• Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands.
• Immunizations and titers required: Tdap, Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required for the flu season.

Competencies and Testing

• Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
• Color blindness testing required.
• Abuse reporting competency covering physical/sexual abuse, domestic violence, and neglect.
• Facility-specific orientation exams including pharmacology, point of care testing, and mask fitting.
• Completion of assigned learning modules during orientation week (~6 hours).

Additional Information

• Candidates must bring certain personal items prior to documentation due date: mask (cloth acceptable), non-wireless headphones, and a laptop or cell phone (notify if not available).
• No onsite certification renewals; renewals must be scheduled prior to contract start.
• Fingerprinting results can pend at start if proof of submission is on file.
• Performance evaluations will be completed at the end of the assignment, not required prior to start.
• Skills checklist must be updated annually.
