Home Health Registered Nurse - Spokane Valley, Washington

Job Details

• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (5x8 hours)
• Hours per Week: 40 hours guaranteed
• Schedule: One weekend every 4 weeks (1 in 4 weekend rotation) with a day off before and after the weekend
• On-call: Yes (details to be discussed during interview)
• Patient Load: Average 5-7 patients per day (geriatric cases)
• Territory: Up to a 60-mile radius from the office; flexibility with territory expected
• Charting: Must be completed by 9:00 AM the following morning
• Dress Code: Scrubs of any color; no jeans allowed
• Technology Provided: iPad provided; cell phone use not allowed
• Mileage: Reimbursed at IRS standard rate

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington state
• Minimum 1 year of recent Home Health nursing experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with OASIS documentation

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Background checks must be current within 90 days of start and updated annually, including:

  • SSN Trace
  • County searches for last 7 years
  • FACIS Level 1
  • Nationwide Sex Offender Registry
  • Motor Vehicle Records (MVR)
  • Education and Work History Verification
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 90 days of start
• Fingerprinting requirements vary by state; for Washington, on-site fingerprinting required if candidate has not lived in state for past 3 years
• Education verification of highest degree related to profession required
• State-specific criminal history and employability status checks as applicable

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within the last 12 months (not required annually)
• Fit test for N95 mask (no specific model required)
• Negative TB test (PPD, Q Gold, or TSpot) within 1 year or chest X-ray within 5 years if positive PPD
• Annual TB questionnaire required for all candidates
• Immunizations or proof of immunity/vaccination (or declination) required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination required for flu season 2025-26
• COVID vaccination or facility-specific declination required

Additional Requirements

• Proof of current auto insurance required due to driving responsibilities
• Signed acknowledgment of Orientation Safety Manual and Acceptable Use Policy required prior to start
• Two professional references required within 2 years of start
• Full 7 years of work history with no gaps must be documented and verified (verification attempts and attestations accepted if needed)
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable

This position is suited for experienced Home Health RNs who are comfortable with a flexible travel territory, have recent Home Health experience, and meet all licensing, certification, and compliance requirements.
