Schedule

• Day shifts, 3 shifts per week (12 hours each, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• 36 guaranteed hours per week (up to 48 hours available; overtime only after 48 hours)
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend
• Floating within scope allowed (no floating to sister facilities)
• No on-call
• Block scheduling not available

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in District of Columbia
• Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience
• Certifications required prior to start:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Experience

• Specialty experience: Minimum 1 year, with preference for 3+ years recent experience
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Time-Off Policy

• Maximum 3 shifts off for 13-week contracts
• Maximum 8 shifts off for 26-week contracts
• Taking a full week off requires adding an additional week to the contract
• No time off approved during these blackout periods:

  • August 31 – September 6
  • November 23 – November 29
  • December 21 – January 3

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background checks within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including SSN trace, sex offender registry, education verification, and others
• Employment application and skills checklist required
• Two professional references dated within past two years (preferably supervisors/managers) required before start
• Physical exam within 30 days of start, including latex allergy information
• Fit test for N95 or PAPR respirators within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Immunizations and titers required with lab values and reference ranges for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (series and quantitative antibody titer)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap within 10 years only)
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 60 days of start; additional documentation if positive or new converter
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
• COVID-19 vaccination or declination required for tracking
• Drug screening: 10-panel including marijuana within 30 days of start
• Facility-specific modules and acknowledgments must be completed prior to start, including safety manual, medication study guide, and infection control training

Parking

• Nights only: Onsite parking available ($70/month)
• Days only or day/night rotation: Offsite parking required ($35-$50/month depending on shift)
