Job Opportunity: Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech

Work Schedule

• 3x12 hour rotating shifts (Day/Evening/Night rotation depending on department needs)
• Weekend work and on-call as needed

• 426 staffed beds
• Charting system: EPIC

Required Qualifications

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST)
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
• Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid driver’s license or state ID matching legal name
• 7-year criminal background check within 12 months of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Foreign equivalency education evaluation and diploma required for internationally educated candidates
• Education verification including official transcripts if needed
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation as applicable
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (or declination), Tdap (highly preferred for certain specialties)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• COVID vaccination series preferred
• Fit mask test within 12 months of start, updated annually (clean shaven required)
• Completion of required facility-specific training modules and attestations (e.g., fire safety, patient bedside rounding, stroke education, CLABSI prevention, etc.)

Additional Requirements

• 7-year work history with no gaps greater than 90 days
• Verification of employment for the last 7 years
• Skills checklist completed within 12 months of start
• Attestation of prior radiation exposure if applicable to certain units
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam required (score 85% to pass)
• Color blind testing required (score 80% or higher)
• Various certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC) – verify based on assignment
