Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Hannibal, Missouri
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM), 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week)

Job Description

• Emergency Room Registered Nurse needed for a 13-week travel assignment.
• Start date: End of June / Beginning of July.
• No local candidates within a 60-mile radius allowed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri.
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Current certifications issued by the American Heart Association:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Copy of I9 (original attestation not accepted).
• Valid Driver’s License or State ID.
• E-Verify documentation.
• Background check within 30 days of start, including:

  • 7-year residential/work/school history
  • Social Security trace
  • County and nationwide criminal searches
  • National Sex Offender search
  • Education verification
• SAM and OIG checks within 90 days of start.
• Primary source verification of Missouri RN license and NURSYS verification.
• Employment application, skills checklist, and references from at least 2 recent employers.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start.
• Negative TB test (2-step PPD, TSPOT, or QGOLD) within 1 year, updated annually. For past positive TB, negative chest X-ray within 5 years plus annual TB questionnaire.
• Immunizations or proof of immunity:

  • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or declination form
  • 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination/exemption form
• 7-panel drug screen within 45 days of start (includes amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cocaine, marijuana, opiates, oxycodone, phencyclidine).
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/1 – 3/31), with proof due by 10/31.

Additional Certifications and Competencies

• NIH Stroke Certification (required for ED).
• Pharmacology competency exam within 12 months.
• Unit competency exam within 12 months.
• Annual core testing (Parts I, II, III).
• HIPAA and facility-specific orientation modules to be completed during orientation.

Facility Policies

• COVID-19 vaccination is required unless a medical or religious exemption is approved; exempted candidates must comply with weekly testing and masking policies.
• Facility-specific confidentiality statement and job description acknowledgment required.
• Passport-style photo required for badge issuance prior to start date.

Summary

This is a 13-week travel contract for an experienced ER Registered Nurse to work night shifts in Missouri. Candidates must hold a Missouri RN license, have at least 2 years of ED experience including recent experience, and maintain current BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS certifications issued by the American Heart Association. An Associate Degree in Nursing is required. Comprehensive background checks, health screenings, immunizations, and facility-specific documentation are mandatory. No local candidates within a 60-mile radius will be considered.
