Labor and Delivery Nurse

Location

  • Travel/Contract

Shift

  • Night shift, 3x12 hours
  • 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Contract Length

  • 12 weeks

Experience

  • 2 years of experience required
  • First-time travelers not accepted

Patient Population

  • Neonates/Infants and Adults

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Georgia
  • Labor and Delivery (2 years of experience)
  • Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NRP
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Experience with Epic

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWHONN Intermediate

Clinical Setting / Skills

  • Labor and delivery experience
  • Vaginal deliveries
  • C-sections
  • Multiple births
  • Postpartum hemorrhage
  • Pregnancy-induced hypertension
  • D&C

Work Expectations

  • Team-based unit
  • Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed
  • 3 weekend shifts per contract
  • 2 calls required per 6 weeks for AM and PM shifts
  • Must work assigned major holidays if they fall during the contract
  • Full compliance required before start

Unit Details

  • 1:1–2 patient ratio
  • 16 L&D beds
  • Average daily census of 15
  • 6-bed L&D triage

  • Epic familiarity required
  • Color blind testing required
  • 2 clinical references required
  • Most recent employer verification required
  • Skills checklist within 12 months
  • Background check required before start
  • Education verification required
  • Physical exam required
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray required
  • TB questionnaire required
  • MMR, varicella, hepatitis B, and flu documentation required
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen required
  • Photo ID required
