Job Opportunity: Electrophysiology Tech
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule & Hours
- Workdays: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday (30 hours per week)
- Shift: Day shift, 3 days a week, 10 hours per day (7:30 AM – 6:00 PM)
- Option available for candidates with Cath Lab experience: 4x10 schedule including a Tuesday Cath Lab shift
Required Qualifications
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Ohio State license required for Respiratory Therapists (RRT) or RN license for nurses (as applicable)
- 2 professional references required, including at least 1 supervisor/manager reference (Charge RN acceptable)
- Willing to consider candidates with adult-only experience
Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS (American Heart Association) certification required (Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted)
- BLS certification required (AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted)
- PALS certification required (AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted)
- NRP certification required for NICU RNs (AHA/AAP certification only)
- TNCC and ENPC certifications as applicable (no screenshots/photos accepted)
- National certification verification required within 30 days of start (e.g., NBRC for RRTs)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam and Competency Exam required as applicable
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Current government-issued photo ID required within 24-48 hours of contract signing (no temporary IDs accepted)
- Criminal background check within 30 days of start, including 7-year county search and education verification (standalone through National Student Clearinghouse)
- International background check if lived/worked internationally in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
- Ohio-specific searches required within 30 days: Nurse Aide Registry, Inmate Registry, Medicaid Exemption, Abuse Registry
- Fingerprinting (OH BCI/FBI) required within 60 days of start and updated for each new contract (code 2151.86)
- Sex Offender Search required within 30 days of start
- Education verification required (highest degree verified separately from background check)
- Employment application and unit-specific skills checklist required (skills checklist updated annually)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam or signed Infection Control Policy required prior to start (physical exam must be within 1 year)
- N95 Fit Testing required within 1 year of start and updated annually; onsite testing allowed if prior options exhausted
- TDAP vaccine required within 10 years of start (vaccine must be after age 11; titers not accepted)
- TB testing options: 2 PPDs or QGOLD/TSPOT within 12 months; additional requirements for positive results
- Annual TB Questionnaire required prior to start
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity required: positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
- Hepatitis B: declination, completed 3-vaccine series, or positive titer required
- Varicella immunity required: positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start (includes amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cocaine, opiates, marijuana, fentanyl, etc.)
- Seasonal flu vaccine required October 31 – May 31; medical/religious exemptions accepted with facility approval and mask requirement during flu season
Additional Notes
- Legal name on all documents must match license and certifications exactly (no nicknames or maiden names)
- Address on ID must match address on license and affiliating health record
- Ohio driver’s license holders with address within 60 miles of facility considered local
- Fingerprint results may pend at start; facility can complete onsite fingerprinting if needed
- No screenshots or photos accepted for compliance documentation
- Candidates with positive TB or past positive results must complete additional facility-specific TB questionnaire
- Candidates with flu vaccine exemptions must comply with mask policy during flu season
