Medical Lab Scientist

Role Overview

Travel/Contract assignment in Indianapolis, Indiana
Based in Blood Bank
Required to float between Methodist, University, and Riley
Training and orientation will be on day shift for the first two weeks before moving to the contracted shift
Night shift: 4x10 hours, 21:00–7:30
40 hours per week
Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

Medical Lab Scientist (1.5 years of experience)
Medical Lab Scientist experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association
ASCP-MLS
ABO/Rh/Antibody Screen & ID
Antibody Typing: Tub Method
Crossmatch-Immediate Spin/IgG
Electronic Crossmatch
Indirect Coombs Test

Preferred Qualifications

ASCP-BB

Unit Information

Blood Bank performs routine and specialized compatibility testing and prepares blood components for transfusion
The lab supports transfusion needs for both pediatric and adult patients
Staffing ratio: 15,000 samples
