Registered Nurse PCU (Medical-Renal)

Overview

Travel/Contract role in Roanoke, Virginia
Night shift: 3x12s, 6:45 PM–7:15 AM
13-week contract
Unit serves adults and geriatric patients
Specializes in Hospitalist Medicine patients with renal and other medical diagnoses
One bed is dedicated to chronic vent patients
Functions as an alternative unit for gastrointestinal, pulmonary, and other surgical or procedural patients covered by hospitalists
Will be required to float within skillset

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Virginia
PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
ACLS
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience working with Cardiac patients
Experience with cardiac drips
Experience with the care and management of invasive lines
Non-invasive airway management
Experience with Epic

Scheduling Notes

May be every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
All RTO, block, and special scheduling requests must be included with the submission
Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
First-time travelers are accepted
Locals are accepted within the stated radius rule
