Job Opportunity: Sitter (Travel/Contract)

Location: Maryville, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Shift: Nights (18:45 - 07:15)
• Weekend coverage: Every other weekend
• Provide 1:1 direct observation of patients in both the Emergency Department (ED) and inpatient areas
• Maintain direct line of sight on patient at all times; must be relieved by another staff member to leave line of sight
• No distractions allowed while on duty (no reading, cell phone use, homework, sleeping, etc.)
• Document patient behavior every 15 minutes and any staff actions taken
• Monitor for signs of escalating behavior and report to nurse or security
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must have active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

• Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands of the position
• Immunizations and health documents as applicable (e.g., TB test, flu vaccine or exemption, Hepatitis B documentation)
• Badge photo required (passport-style, light background, no hats or sunglasses)
• Completion of online orientation modules and pass/fail testing prior to start (approximately 12-16 hours of training)
• Annual competency exams and core training modules required (updated annually)

• The role requires strict adherence to patient safety protocols and documentation standards
• No distractions allowed during patient observation
• Floating policy and other facility-specific acknowledgments must be signed and maintained annually
• Respirator fit testing will be completed onsite during orientation
• Candidates must be prepared to complete mandatory online modules and pass required tests before starting the assignment
