Job Overview

• Start Date: 1/5 or 1/12
• Requires at least 2 years of CVOR RN experience and previous travel experience
• Scrub experience must be rated 3 or 4 on the skills list
• Call Requirements: 2-4 weeknights and 1-2 weekends of call per 4-week schedule
• Patient Population: Adult cardiac surgery, vascular, and thoracic patients with complex and high acuity cases

Clinical Experience Areas

Cardiac Surgery

• Cardiac procedures including Aortic Aneurysm Repair, MVR, AVR, CABG, ECMO, Heart Transplant, MAZE, LVAD/RVAD, Aortic Balloon/Impella Devices

Thoracic Surgery

• VATS Wedge Resection, VATS/Open Lobectomy, Esophagectomy (Minimally Invasive & Transhiatal), Bronchoscopy, EGD, Mediastinal Mass Removal, Lung Transplant, Laparoscopic & Open Hiatal Hernia Repair

Vascular Surgery

• AAA, EVAR, Carotid Endarterectomy, AV Fistulas, Fem-distal bypass, Fem-fem bypass, SMA bypass, Vein stripping/ablation

Unit Highlights

• Flexible scheduling and time-off requests with supportive management
• Call shifts never exceed 12 hours
• Weekend call limited to either Friday & Saturday night or Saturday & Sunday daytime only

Required Certifications & Compliance

• ACLS (AHA only; no certificates of completion or RQI cards accepted)
• BLS (AHA only; no certificates of completion or RQI cards accepted)
• PALS (AHA only; required for specific pediatric units)
• NRP (as applicable; no certificates of completion or RQI cards accepted)
• State Nursing License verification (primary source online verification)
• NURSYS Verification for RN, LPN/LVN, AP
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required for PACU, Tele, and ICU units including CVICU

Background & Health Requirements

• 7-year background check within 30 days of start, renewed annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required prior to start and updated annually
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific acceptable masks listed)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; annual TB questionnaire if history of positive test
• Immunizations/Titers required: Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella (boosters required if titers negative or equivocal)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant drug screens not accepted)
• Flu vaccination required year-round with no exemptions allowed (egg-free vaccine available for allergies)

Documentation & Orientation

• I9 or attestation required
• Government-issued photo ID required
• Facility-specific orientation packet and paperwork must be completed and submitted within 3 weeks of start date
• Badge and pager return policies apply at assignment end to avoid fees

References & Evaluations

• Two recent verified professional references required (must be from managers/supervisors; charge RN references not accepted)
• Facility completes performance evaluations during assignment
