Position Details
- Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week block
- Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
- Charting System: EPIC experience required
- Call-off Policy: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- License: Pending license accepted only if holding a single-state license from a non-compact state; otherwise, active Virginia State or Compact RN/LPN license required
- Accepts First-Time Travelers: Yes

Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA only
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA only

Required Clinical Skills
- Cardiac monitoring and emergency response (dysrhythmia interpretation/management, Rapid Response/Code teams)
- IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central/peripheral line care
- Medication administration, cardiac drips (no titration)
- Respiratory support (nasal cannula, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management)
- Rapid Response and Isolation precautions
Unit Details
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4–5 (travelers must be comfortable with a 1:5 ratio)
- Patient population: Adult patients with neurological conditions
- Includes 5 dedicated beds for continuous 24-hour epilepsy monitoring
- Care involves neurosurgical recovery, stroke management, neuro-specific diagnoses, and medical overflow
- Floating: Traveler will float to units within their clinical skillset
