Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Hannibal, Missouri
Specialty: Registered Nurse (CVOR)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Travel RN needed for Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
- Must cover general OR cases and cardiac cases (hearts) due to low volume program
- Orthopedic OR experience required; robotics experience preferred
- Must be able to circulate; scrubbing skills are a bonus
- Shift options:
- 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
- 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
- 50% call coverage required
- No local candidates within 60-mile radius
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Missouri RN License
- BLS (AHA only)
- ACLS (AHA only)
- Other preferred certifications (not required):
- PALS (preferred but not required)
- TNCC (preferred but not required)
- NRP, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification (depending on unit)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of travel experience specifically in the OR required
- Orthopedic OR experience required
- Robotics experience preferred
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background check within 30 days of start, including:
- 7-year residence/work/school history
- Social Security trace
- County and nationwide searches
- National sex offender check
- Education verification
- State-specific elder/child abuse searches (if applicable)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 90 days of start
- Primary source verification of RN license and NURSYS verification
- Employment application, skills checklist, and references from at least 2 recent employers
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (annual TB questionnaire required)
- Drug screening (7-panel) within 45 days of start
- Immunizations and titers:
- MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Tdap within 10 years (declination or exemption accepted)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/1 - 3/31)
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption considered; exemptions require weekly testing and mask-wearing
Additional Notes
- Modules and facility-specific orientation will be completed during onboarding
- Passport-style photo required for badge prior to start date
- Confidentiality statement and other facility-specific forms must be signed before starting
- Religious and medical exemption forms for COVID-19 and flu vaccines are available and must be approved by the facility if applicable
This position is ideal for experienced travel CVOR RNs with orthopedic OR skills and prior travel experience looking for a 13-week assignment in Missouri.

Nurse:patient ratios are great. This SDU has the best UTL and Director I’ve worked with in quite awhile.
Cons
Finding housing is a bit tough with it being a small town.
