Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (OBGYN RN) - Travel/Contract

Location: Clay Center, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: OBGYN Registered Nurse
• Unit: LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
• Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7 AM – 7 PM)
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Additional Duties:

  • Must be willing to work Med Surg (training provided)
  • Scheduled for Med Surg and on-call for OB walk-ins, scheduled C-sections, or inductions

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) preferred
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) as applicable

Licensure & Verification

• Valid State Nursing License (Primary Source Verification required)
• NURSYS Verification as applicable
• Residency Declaration Form if working on a compact license

Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse in OBGYN (Years of experience not explicitly stated; assume minimum standard for OBGYN RN roles)
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Competencies & Training

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
• Unit Competency Exam
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (includes HIPAA, OSHA, Joint Commission training)
• Core Parts I, II, and III training or attestation

Health & Background Requirements

• Physical Exam: Initial and annual updates confirming ability to meet physical demands
• Immunizations & Titers:

  • Tdap (within past 10 years)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Flu Vaccine (declination NOT accepted)
• TB Test: Negative PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot within 1 year; chest X-ray if previously positive
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year, updated annually
• Background Checks:

  • 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
  • State-specific exclusion list checks for Kansas and Missouri

Documentation & History

• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Complete employment application/resume
• Annual skills checklist for applicable unit
• Performance evaluation if previously worked with the agency over 1 year

Additional Notes

• Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried during hours of service
• Facility will provide training for Med Surg duties as needed
