Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics RRT (Travel/Contract)

Location: Lansing, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Overview

  • Role: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) specializing in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
  • Patient Population: Pediatric and Adult critical care experience required
  • Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, night shift
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • First-time travelers: Not accepted (prior travel experience required)
  • Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
  • On-call: Not required
  • Floating: No floating outside scope of practice

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum Specialty Experience: 2 years in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
  • Prior Travel Experience: Required (first-timers not accepted)

Certifications Required

  • State Respiratory Therapist License (Michigan)
  • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) by American Heart Association
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • CRTT (Certified Respiratory Therapist - Technician)

Work Setting Experience

  • Emergency Room (ER)
  • Adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Respiratory Care Skills Required

  • Airway Management
  • Medication Administration
  • Ventilator Management
  • Oxygen Therapy
  • Suctioning
  • Pulmonary Toileting
  • Nebulizer Treatments
  • BiPAP and CPAP

Polysomnography / Sleep Studies Experience

  • Oxygen Saturation monitoring

Equipment Experience

  • Servo I ventilators
  • Hamilton G5 ventilators

Scheduling & Hours

  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours for 3 shifts (3x12 hr)
  • Locals accepted; no local radius rule
  • No block scheduling accommodation

Facility Type

  • Short Term Acute Care Hospital
  • Magnet recognized, Teaching hospital, Level 1 Trauma Center
  • Total Staffed Beds: 632
  • Charting system: Epic (experience required)

Additional Requirements

  • Background checks including 7-year history, criminal, sex offender, and education verification
  • Drug screening (10-panel with THC) within 30 days of start
  • Physical exam within 12 months, including latex sensitivity noted
  • Immunizations and health documents required: Tdap, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, TB test or questionnaire, seasonal flu vaccination or declination
  • Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
  • Facility-specific orientation and safety modules required prior to or at orientation

Notes

  • Pending licenses are not accepted
  • Respiratory therapists must submit Return to Office (RTO) restrictions at profile submission
  • Free parking with badge provided

This position is ideal for experienced RRTs with prior travel contract experience seeking a night shift role in a high-acuity, Magnet-designated acute care hospital.
