Job Opportunity: CVOR Tech - Surgical Services

Unit Details

• Diagnoses include but are not limited to: General surgery, OB/GYN, plastic, ENT, eyes, cardiovascular/thoracic, laparoscopic, urology, robotic, orthopedic (including totals), neuro/spine, bronchoscopes, colonoscopes, EGD scopes, EBUS, EUS, enteroscopes, ERCP scopes, fiber optics, and flexible sigmoidoscopes.
• Weekend schedule: Every other weekend
• Call: 10-12 call shifts per 6-week schedule
• Floating: Within facility and to Piedmont Macon North Hospital as needed
• Minimum Specialty Experience: 1 year (first-time travelers accepted)

Required Qualifications

• License: Must hold a valid Georgia state license appropriate for CVOR Tech.
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required for CVOR specialties.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required.
  • Other certifications may be required depending on specialty; refer to clinical track guidelines.
• Background Checks: Must be completed within 30 days of start, including education verification and criminal background checks.
• Health Requirements:

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (with additional requirements if past positive).
  • Immunizations: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B (titer or declination), Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (highly recommended but not always required).
  • Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start.
  • Flu vaccination or declination required during flu season.
• Competency Exams: Medication test/pharmacology competency, color blind testing, dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (specific to certain units).
• References: Two clinical references required.
• Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process.

Additional Information

• Orientation hours are non-billable and vary based on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for an 8-week assignment).
• Full compliance with all requirements is mandatory to start on time; delays in compliance may result in a 2-week pushback due to orientation scheduling.
• Holiday work expectations: If one major holiday falls during the assignment, the traveler is expected to work it; if two, both must be worked; if three, two must be worked. Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year’s Eve/Day.
• Prior travel experience is not required for this position.

This is a 12-week travel contract for a CVOR Tech in Macon, GA, requiring at least 1 year of specialty experience. The role involves a variety of surgical cases and requires weekend and call shifts.
