Job Opportunity: EEG Tech (Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics)
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours each, Thursday through Saturday
- Training: Must be willing to work 5 days of 8 hours during the first 1-2 weeks for training
- Patient Population: Must be comfortable working with all patient populations
- Floating: May be required to float between pediatric hospital and main hospital
- Types of Cases: Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, sEEG, Neurotelemetry, Ictal SPECT, routine EEG, Trauma, Critical Care
- Weekend Requirement: No weekend requirement
- Block Schedule: Accommodation available
- Holiday Requirement: Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays; 1 pre-approved time off per contract

Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty (Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics)
- Certifications required:
- ABRET
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- R.EEG T (Registered EEG Technologist)
- Special skills: Collodion/glue EEG hook-up

Required Documentation & Compliance
- Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy)
- Background Checks including:
- 7 years residence/work history verification
- County, Statewide, National Sex Offender, FACIS Level III
- Education Verification
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or RQI acceptable
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or RQI acceptable
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - AHA only
- Other certifications as applicable per unit
- Competency Exams:
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (not required for Techs or RRTs)
- Unit Competency Exam
- Color Blind Testing (Ishihara or equivalent, 100% minimum score)
- Health Documents:
- Physical Exam within 12 months of start
- Fit Mask Test within 12 months (approved respirators only)
- Immunizations and Titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (preferred but not required)
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 1 year
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination required
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
- Drug Testing: Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months
- Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required for flu season
- History & References:
- Minimum 2 references from recent employment verified within 2 years
- Current employment application with full work history and explanations for gaps
- Skills Checklist within 12 months and annually updated
- Facility Specific Requirements:
- Completion of facility-specific forms and orientation packets prior to start
- Mandatory completion of required training modules before orientation (for applicable roles)
- HIPAA Acknowledgement
Additional Notes
- First-time travelers accepted if all other requirements are met
- Prior travel experience is NOT required for this position
This position offers a dynamic work environment with exposure to a variety of neurodiagnostic cases and requires strong technical skills and certifications. Candidates must be flexible with floating between units and working holiday shifts.
