Requirements

• Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) nursing experience
  • Prior travel experience required (explicitly stated: "MUST HAVE TRAVEL EXP, NO EXCEPTIONS")

• Licensure:

  • Kansas state license or compact license required at time of submission

• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as required depending on unit
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required for ER and CCU nurses
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) required for Obstetrics (Maternal Child)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) required for ER nurses

• Other Requirements:

  • All Return to Office (RTO) requirements must be met at time of submission
  • Must comply with 50-mile radius rule (locals accepted but at a lower rate)

Compliance & Documentation

• Background Checks:

  • 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Includes SSN trace, county, national criminal, FACIS level 3 (includes KDADS)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for every contract renewal

• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands, updated annually
  • Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Immunizations or titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Drug testing: 9-panel drug screen within last 12 months (instant acceptable)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required for 2025-26 season
  • COVID vaccination required or completion of facility-specific medical/religious exemption forms

• References & History:

  • Proof of 2 professional clinical references required
  • Employment application showing minimum 1 year of experience required
  • Performance evaluations required if previously worked with the facility for over 1 year

Additional Notes

• Must carry government-issued photo ID during hours of service
• Residency declaration form required if working on a compact license
• Compliance with facility-specific forms for COVID exemptions and KDADS release authorization for Home Health RNs
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency tests required and must be updated annually

This position is ideal for experienced travel Registered Nurses with at least 1 year of Med Surg experience who meet licensure and certification requirements and are ready to comply with comprehensive background, health, and compliance documentation.
