Position Details

• Locals Accepted: No (Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility)
• Pending License: Accepted if Alaska CNA license application has already been submitted with documentation
• Return Time Off (RTO): Little to no RTO allowed; must be willing to work holidays; all RTO requests must be submitted with application and prior to offer/contract signing
• Guaranteed Hours: 84 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for 1 shift per 2 weeks)

Licensing & Application Requirements

  • Can be pending if application is already submitted with proof (application submittal, fee paid, fingerprints, education verification, license verification)
  • If pending, must also provide:

    • Valid CNA license from another state
    • Verification of completion of formal CNA training (certificate, transcript, etc.)

Housing & Vehicle

• Housing Provided: Yes

  • Typically 1-bedroom apartments
  • Available no earlier than 72 hours before contract start and no later than 24 hours after contract end
  • Pets not allowed
  • Housing usually accommodates only the traveler; additional family members require approval
  • Must clean housing unit upon departure or face cleaning fees
• Vehicle Provided: Yes

  • Company-owned, shared-use vehicle available 72 hours before contract start until 24 hours after contract end
  • Only traveler authorized to operate vehicle
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance required
  • Personal vehicle insurance must cover rental car use
  • Vehicle use limited to “around town” within 30-mile radius; no off-road or outside area use
  • Vehicle must be returned clean and with a full tank of gas
  • Vehicle must be turned in during time off and reissued upon return
  • Tire chains available at additional cost

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Background Check:

  • Within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • Must include SSN trace, death master index, county and nationwide checks, sex offender registry, FACIS Level 3, education verification, MVR (if applicable)
  • International background check if lived/worked internationally in past 7 years
  • Returning travelers with less than 30-day gap may use existing background if valid
• Education Verification: Required for CNA (verification of related degree, high school, or college education)
• References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 6 months employment within last 3 years in comparable LTC specialty
• Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format; no “current” or “present”
• Skills Checklist: Required annually for applicable units (LTC specialty)
• Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work with or without accommodation
• Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
• Immunizations & Health Requirements:

  • BLS certification required
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years or declination accepted
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer or declination
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination (Alaska placements require positive titer and vaccine series)
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer or declination
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season or declination accepted
  • COVID vaccine or declination required
  • Fit Mask test required (updated annually)
  • Respirator Safety Clearance required for travel candidates (annual)

  • Must complete required WorkRamp training modules specific to LTC and Alaska facilities
  • Must comply with float policy (may be required to float to other Providence facilities nearby)
