Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology (Mammography Tech)

Location: Austin, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Mammography experience required
• No explicit prior travel experience required

Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - Must be AHA certified
• National Certification/Verification required within 30 days of start (ARRT Mammography credential mandatory)
• Mammography Tech must have:

  • Evidence of 15 mammography-specific CEUs within the last 3 years
  • Evidence of 200 mammograms performed within the last 24 months
  • Evidence of initial training: 40 hours of mammography-specific training and 25 supervised exams
  • Evidence of 8 hours of digital training
  • Evidence of 8 hours of 3D/tomo training
• Primary source State License verification required within 30 days prior to start (if applicable)

Background & Compliance Checks

• 7-year criminal background check within a year of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and monthly thereafter
• Education verification (diploma or transcript) required
• Fingerprinting required for Pennsylvania placements only (must be completed and results on file before start)
• Work history verification of last position worked only

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam (physician statement within last 12 months) required for patient-facing roles
• Flu vaccination or approved religious/medical exemption required during flu season
• Tdap vaccine or medical exemption required
• Negative TB test (PPD, Q Gold, or TSpot) within 1 year of start; chest x-ray if prior positive
• TB questionnaire required
• Vaccinations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
  • Varicella
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required
• 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start required for all candidates

Competency Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
• Competency Exam as applicable

Facility Specific Requirements

• Candidate must review and sign:

  • Clinical Systems User Agreement
  • Contingent Worker Standards and Acknowledgement
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA compliance) required

Additional Notes

• Radiation badge will be provided by the facility for radiology techs
• Skills checklist required for applicable units (updated annually)
• Various state-specific checks required for placements in Colorado and Pennsylvania
