Registered Nurse - Surgery Unit (Travel/Contract)

Location: Gallipolis, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Day shift, Monday – Friday, 07:00 AM – 3:30 PM with call requirements
• On Call: RN will participate in call rotation including weekends, weeknights, and holidays
• Floating: Will only float within the Gallipolis location if necessary
• Patient Ratio: 1:1 in OR
• First Time Traveler: Yes
• Scrubs: Provided

Specialty & Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse - Surgery Unit
• Required Experience: Minimum 2+ years of OR circulating experience preferred
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Licensure & Certifications

• Licensure: Active RN license required
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Preferred Certification: CNOR (not required)

Skills & Equipment Experience

• Experience with Mako Robot and DaVinci Robot preferred
• Exposure to Orthopedics, General Surgery, ENT, Endoscopy, Podiatry, Ophthalmology, Pain Management, GYN, Pulmonology, Urology
• Charting systems: Paragon and Athena (experience not required)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government issued photo ID required at all times
• Social Security Card required
• Residency Declaration Form if working on a compact license
• 7-year criminal background check including SSN trace, counties lived/worked, statewide, national criminal, sex offender, FACIS Level 3, OFAC
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required and must be updated monthly
• BCI and FBI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start, updated every 5 years
• Education verification required
• Physical exam required prior to start (clear to work without restrictions)
• Fit mask testing within 6 months of start (specific mask types required)
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tdap within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (Quantiferon Gold acceptable, Tspot not acceptable)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination)
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination)
  • Varicella (positive titer or vaccination)
• Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Flu vaccine or signed declination required for flu season (9/1/2025 – 3/30/2026)
• COVID vaccination or signed declination required

Additional Requirements

• 2 positive professional references related to similar work experience preferred
• Employment application must include 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care and similar area
• Unit-specific competency exam required, updated annually
• Completion of facility-specific documents including confidentiality, orientation, cultural competency, dress and appearance, code of conduct, and others prior to start
• Photo for badge required (passport style, neutral background)
