Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech
Location: Covington, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Unit Details
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Weekend: Included in call requirements
- Call: 1 week of backup call per month
- Call hours: 5 PM to 11 PM Monday-Friday, 7 AM to 11 PM Saturday/Sunday
- Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed
- Minimum Experience: 2 years (first-time travelers accepted)
Work Expectations
- Must work major holidays if they fall during assignment:
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving/Black Friday
- Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
- New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays may result in a 2-week pushback due to orientation scheduling
- Non-billable orientation hours depend on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
Required Qualifications
- Nuclear Medicine Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience
- Must have Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience within the last year
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background check completed within 30 days prior to start
- Education verification required (degree or equivalent certification)
- State license verification within 30 days prior to start
- Annual NURSYS verification (if applicable)
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months prior to start
- Required immunizations or titers:
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (titer or signed declination)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap highly recommended)
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start
- Flu vaccination or signed declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
- Color blindness test required
- Competency exams as applicable (e.g., Dysrhythmia/EKG competency for certain units)
- Skills checklist updated within 12 months
- Verification of recent work history and clinical references required
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position
- Locals are accepted at the same rate
- Floating within the facility may be required as per scope of practice
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance prior to start
