Job Opportunity: RRT Pediatrics (Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics)

Job Description

• Day/Night rotating shifts, with a likelihood of more night shifts; flexibility required.
• Role floats between CORE team (home base) and PICU unit.
• Floating between units is required.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a pediatric hospital.
• Some Level III or IV NICU experience required.

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Ohio State license required for Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT).
• NBRC certification required for RRTs.
• Current government-issued photo ID matching the name and address on the RRT license.

Required Qualifications & Documentation

• Valid Pediatric Respiratory Therapist license in Ohio
• Pediatric Respiratory Therapist with at least 2 years of experience
• Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• Experience working with Pediatric patients
• Experience working with Neonate patients
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NBRC certification

Compliance & Background Requirements

• Criminal background check within 30 days of start, including 7-year county search and education verification.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
• Ohio BCI/FBI fingerprinting required within 60 days of start and must be updated for each new contract.
• Education verification through National Student Clearinghouse or in-house verification if needed.
• Sex offender search and various Ohio state-specific registry searches required within 30 days of start.
• Drug screening (9-panel) within 60 days prior to start.
• Code of Conduct and Confidentiality Agreement must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
• Affiliating Health Record completion required.
• Infection Control Policy review and signature required prior to start.

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – AHA/AAP certification required for NICU RNs (check if applicable).
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – as applicable.
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) – as applicable.
• Tech Certification Verification (NBRC for RRTs).

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (not necessarily renewed annually).
• N95 Fit Testing required within 1 year of start and updated annually. Onsite fit testing allowed if prior testing not completed.
• TDAP vaccine required within 10 years of start (must be completed after age 11).
• TB testing options: Two PPDs or QGOLD/TSPOT within 12 months; additional requirements if positive.
• Seasonal flu vaccine required between October 31 and May 31; medical/religious exemptions accepted with facility approval.
• Immunizations required or proof of immunity for: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B.
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start.

• Prior travel experience is NOT explicitly required for this position.
• Flexibility to float between units is mandatory.
