Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Cardiac Cath Tech - RN Days)

Required Experience

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology

Preferred Qualifications

• RCIS certification highly preferred
• Experience in Cardiac and Peripheral procedures preferred

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Valid RN license (per job title and specialty)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or Military only; must be current at start
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Military only; must be current at start
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., PALS, NRP) but not mandatory for this role

Required Competencies

• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (must be completed and renewed annually)
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) with a minimum score of 80% (3 attempts allowed)

Background & Health Requirements

• Background check required within 6 months of start (includes SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search, and international search if applicable)
• Physical exam within 1 year, signed by physician, NP, or PA-C; must be updated annually
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within last 10 years)
  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination accepted)
• TB screening within 1 year of start (PPD, Q Gold, or Tspot)
• Flu vaccine required year-round; medical or religious exemptions require facility approval

Facility Specific Requirements

• Candidate must complete and sign various facility-specific documents prior to start, including but not limited to:

  • Job description acknowledgment
  • Confidentiality and information agreement
  • Patient identification agreement
  • Conflict of interest questionnaire
  • Staff call out acknowledgment
  • Corporate code of conduct acknowledgment
  • Policy tech access acknowledgment
  • Professional appearance acknowledgment
  • Parking registration (if driving)
  • Computer use acknowledgment
• Photo for badge required (passport-style, professional, no large earrings, face piercings, unnatural hair colors, or head coverings unless for religious reasons)
• Completion of mandatory orientation modules prior to start

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in North Carolina
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist
• Recent Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year

Additional Notes

• No 10 or 12-hour shifts considered
• No more than 6 days off allowed during contract
• Candidates must renew any expiring certifications prior to start
• COVID-19 vaccination is not required but documentation is accepted if available

This position is ideal for an RN Cath Lab Tech with at least 1 year of experience, who prefers day shifts and is comfortable working in a short-term acute care setting with Epic charting. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
