Job Opportunity: Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST)

Work Schedule

• Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 9 hours per day (36 hours/week)
• Start times vary between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM
• Call & Holidays: Every other weekend and holiday, plus periodic call coverage during the week
• Call response time: 30 minutes

Job Description

• Certified Operating Room (OR) Scrub Tech with Obstetrics (OB) experience required
• Assist in surgical services within the operating room environment

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist, including OB Technician experience within the last year
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential or NBSTSA certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to respond to call within 30 minutes

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Criminal background check within 1 year of start, including:

  • 7-year search, SS trace, counties, sex offender, nationwide checks
  • Education verification (diploma acceptable in lieu of third-party verification)
  • International background checks if candidate has lived/worked outside the US
• Minnesota DHS NetStudy Fingerprint clearance required prior to start (no starts with fingerprints pending unless approved "more time needed" letter)
• GSA/SAM and OIG excluded provider checks required
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Drug testing (9-panel) within 1 year of start (not required for client clearance but must be completed)
• Immunizations and health documentation required:

  • Tdap vaccination (no religious declinations accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per Minnesota state guidelines
  • Proof of immunity or vaccination for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (MMR series or titers)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination, positive titer, or declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (mask required if declined)
• Fit mask testing (N95) required; onsite PAPR available if fit test failed

Orientation and Training

• Education modules (~16 hours) completed during orientation (except for certain locations where modules must be completed prior to start)
• Dress code must be reviewed prior to start (specific scrub color for Respiratory Therapists noted, but not applicable here)

Documentation and Other Requirements

• Photo for badge with specific guidelines (grey background, no selfies, JPG format)
• Confidentiality agreement must be signed prior to start
• Two references from recent employers within 2 years required
• Skills checklist required for all clinical candidates
• Work history verification required for non-clinical candidates (3 years)
