Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse

Location: Columbia, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Work 3 night shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:45 - 7:15)
• Float between Emergency Department (ED) and ED Observation units
• Facility is a Level 1 Trauma, Stroke, and STEMI ED with a pediatric ED inside the main ED
• Psych center associated but no floating to psych required
• Must work 50% of holidays and every other weekend
• Rotating shifts, holiday work, and work during inclement weather required
• Physically active role requiring ambulation, reaching, and moving objects over 20 lbs
• Exposure to patients with contagious illnesses is routine

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance & Background Requirements

• 7-year background check required within 60 days of start, including alias search, counties lived/worked/school, national and federal criminal searches, sex offender search, social security trace, and international background check if applicable
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG exclusion screenings required within 60 days of start
• Missouri Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) or Missouri Caregiver search must be on file within 60 days; cannot start with both pending
• Drug screening: Negative 7-panel drug test within 60 days of start
• Photo for badge required for new candidates only

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (agency form acceptable)
• Fit mask test valid within 1 year (specific mask models required)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years or approved exemption
• Negative TB test (QGold, TSpot, or 2-step PPD) within 1 year, updated annually; chest x-ray and INH treatment documentation required if positive TB history
• Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines (at least one after 1980); no declinations accepted, medical exemptions require facility approval
• Hepatitis B series or positive/reactive titer required; boosters required for low titers; no declinations accepted after 7/1/2023
• Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; no declinations accepted, medical exemptions require facility approval
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (10/01 - 03/31)

Additional Requirements

• Resume with minimum 7 years employment history, all gaps accounted for, including education details
• Two professional references from the last 2 years
• Ability to work full term at assigned location, work assigned weekends, take call, and work at least 50% of holidays during contract
• Must be able to meet physical demands and work rotating shifts in a 24/7 healthcare environment
