Registered Nurse - Neuro ICU

Location: Jackson, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Position on a busy Neuro ICU floor.
• Must be willing to float to other ICUs, Med Surg/Telemetry, and Progressive Care units.
• Holiday and weekend requirements: 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule; must be willing to work Memorial Day.

Required Experience

• At least 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry experience within the last year.
• Locals and first-time travelers accepted.
• Prior travel experience is not required.

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee.
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Experience with Epic.
• EFM certification.

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, including nationwide and international if applicable.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals.
• Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; TB questionnaire updated annually.
• N95 Fit Mask test within 1 year, updated annually (no PAPR allowed).
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted).
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31); no declinations or exemptions accepted.
• COVID vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required prior to start.
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations.
• Complete employment application/resume.
• Skills checklist as applicable to specialty.

Additional Notes

• Candidates must review and sign appearance standards prior to start.
• EPIC test-out required for all candidates (one attempt only). Failure to pass results in contract cancellation.
• Must be willing to comply with all facility-specific policies and safety manuals.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee.
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Minimum of 1 year Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year.
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
• EFM certification.

This position is ideal for RNs with neuro ICU experience who are comfortable working in a fast-paced critical care environment and have recent Epic system experience.
