Job Opportunity: Outpatient Clinic Registered Nurse
Location: Raleigh, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Day shift, 5x8 hours)
- Weekend Requirement: None
- Charting System: EPIC
- Scrub Color: Any
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Minimum 3 years of clinic experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in an outpatient setting with ambulatory care experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Experience with EPIC charting system
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Background Checks:
- Must be completed within 90 days of start date
- Includes SSN trace, county searches for past 7 years, nationwide and international searches if applicable
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Required immunizations/vaccines: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years), Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination not accepted)
- Seasonal flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Drug test: Negative 10-panel (including THC) within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
- Other Required Documents:
- I9 or attestation
- Driver’s license or government-issued photo ID
- Social Security card (if used for I9)
- Employment application and 7 years of work history
- Two professional references from employment within last 12 months (at least one supervisor)
- Skills checklist updated annually
- Orientation: Bi-weekly sessions prior to start
- Competency Testing: Unit-specific competency exam required
- Guest Account Setup: Must set up a facility guest account prior to clearance to access orientation and work systems
Additional Notes
- Candidates with less than a 30-day gap between previous assignments at this facility may have some document requirements waived or accepted on file.
- Candidates must complete all required online modules prior to orientation.
- Competency checklists (CBOs) must be completed within 3 weeks after start date. Failure to comply may result in contract cancellation or exclusion from future contracts.
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Blue Card training may be required depending on unit; training can be provided onsite if needed.
- Pass/fail testing on EKG/medication knowledge is administered at orientation (passing score 80%).
This position is ideal for experienced outpatient RNs licensed in North Carolina or with a compact license, who are comfortable with EPIC charting and working a standard weekday day shift without weekend requirements. Prior travel contract experience is mandatory.
