ICU Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Night (4 shifts of 12 hours each, 18:30 - 7:00)
- Hours per week: 48 (option for 36 or 48 hours)
- Patient ratio: 1:2
- Float required
- Weekends required
- First-time travel nurses are welcome
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
- Education verification of highest level completed
- Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)
- Photo for badge (clear headshot)
- Employment application and resume required
- 7-year work history verification required
- Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam (minimum 80% score or meet Angoff score)
- Color blindness test (online version accepted)
- Core HIPAA and safety manual acknowledgments
Additional Notes
- Orientation and EPIC training can be attended pending fingerprint clearance, but no unit work until clearance is received
- Medical exemptions for flu vaccine must be signed by a provider and approved; religious exemptions require documentation
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position
This position offers an opportunity for ICU RNs with at least one year of experience to work night shifts in a critical care setting with a 1:2 patient ratio, requiring flexibility for floating and weekend work.
