Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - CVOR

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work schedule: 4x10 hour shifts, 2030-0700 (night shift)
• Scrub and circulate experience required for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases
• Primary cases: Cardiac and Thoracic, Vascular (Open and Endovascular Procedures), Transplant (Liver, Kidney, Pancreas), Whipples (Pancreatic Procedures)
• Rotating shift start times: 0630, 0800, 0900, 1100 as needed
• Weekend requirement: On-call shifts per call policy (3-4 weekday and 1-2 weekend call shifts per 6-week schedule, may vary)
• On-call required as needed
• Floating within service line expected
• Block scheduling not accommodated
• Local candidates not accepted (home must be at least 75 miles from facility)
• Pending license accepted
• Return to office restrictions: No more than 7 days

Required Qualifications

• Discipline: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Specialty: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
• Minimum years of experience: 2 years (1 year considered if experience is at a Level 1 Trauma Facility)
• First-time travelers accepted only if more than 2 years experience at a Level 1 Trauma Facility
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• Scrub and circulate experience required
• BSN preferred

• Type: Short Term Acute Care
• Level: Teaching / Level 1 Trauma Center
• Total staffed beds: 1266
• Charting system: EPIC
• Parking available (fees apply, varies by shift and location)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued ID required
• Criminal background check within 6 months required (7-year search including statewide, nationwide, and international if applicable)
• Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Education verification required (highest nursing education)
• Professional license primary source verification required (Missouri RN license verifiable on NURSYS)
• Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include standard panels and be valid throughout assignment
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask testing required annually (N95 respirators)
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • Tdap vaccine or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (with yearly questionnaire)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
• Facility-specific documents including HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, latex allergy questionnaire, hand hygiene policy, fingernail policy, dress code policy, and orientation modules must be completed and signed prior to start
• Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists required (including medication/pharmacology competency, dysrhythmia/EKG competency, and oncology competency if applicable)
• References: Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)

• Floating within the service line may be required to meet facility needs
• On-call shifts are scheduled based on unit needs and may vary in frequency
• Orientation and training modules are mandatory and time-sensitive
• Candidates must adhere to facility policies including dress code and hand hygiene
• Candidates must be prepared for a Level 1 Trauma environment with cardiac and vascular surgical cases

This position is ideal for experienced CVOR RNs seeking a travel contract in a high-acuity, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital setting with a focus on cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical cases.
