Job Opportunity: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Inpatient Rehab

Contract Length: 8 weeks

Job Description

• Work setting: Inpatient rehabilitation hospital
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
• Weekend requirement: 1 weekend coverage per month
• Flex days available
• Start date: ASAP
• Patient focus: Outpatient physical therapy, activities of daily living (ADLs), stroke rehabilitation experience helpful
• Attire: Any solid color scrubs, close-toed shoes required
• Parking: Free

Required Qualifications

• Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of Speech Language Pathologist experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification

Certifications & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background checks within 1 year, including SS Trace, County searches, Nationwide, Sex Offender registry
• Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications from recognized organizations
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask required prior to start (any mask acceptable)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Immunization or titer proof for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• 9-panel drug screen within 1 year
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination or declination required

Additional Requirements

• Employment verification from most recent employer
• 2 professional references for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles (within 3 years)
• Annual skills checklist

Notes

• This is an inpatient rehab position but requires outpatient therapy skills
• Stroke rehab and ADLs experience are helpful but not mandatory
• Cannot guarantee every holiday off
• Any call-outs must be communicated with ample notice (more than 24 hours)

This position offers a structured schedule with a mix of inpatient rehab duties and outpatient therapy focus, suitable for SLPs with at least 1 year of experience and appropriate Texas licensure.
