Job Opportunity: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work on an Oncology MedSurg floor with every other week (EOW) scheduling.
• Patient ratio typically 1:6 or 1:7; experience with higher ratios is required.
• Preferred shift pattern is 3x12-hour shifts; 4x12-hour shifts may be considered.
• Minimal to no return to office (RTO) required.
• Block scheduling considered.
• Oncology experience is highly preferred.
• Must have at least 1 year of recent MedSurg nursing experience.
• Previous travel nursing experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience with Telemetry and IV starts required.
• EMR systems used: Cerner & Soarian.
• Royal Blue scrubs required (not provided).

Required Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on unit.
• Other certifications may be required based on specialty/unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC) but BLS is mandatory.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum 1 year recent MedSurg nursing experience.
• Skills in IV starts.
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Proof of identity (government-issued photo ID).
• Background check including 7-year criminal history and education verification.
• Drug screening (10-panel) within 30 days of start.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 30 days of start.
• Immunization or titer proof for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B.
• Flu vaccination required during flu season unless approved medical/religious exemption.
• Annual competency exams and safety training (OSHA, HIPAA, Joint Commission).
• Facility-specific health and safety modules must be completed prior to start.
• Photo for badge must be submitted promptly (passport-style, no selfies).

Additional Notes

• Local candidates within 30 miles of the facility will not be considered.
• Candidates must be willing to comply with facility dress code and wear required scrubs.
• References: Two recent supervisor/manager level references required.
• Performance evaluations and skills checklists may be required if previously employed by the agency.

This position is ideal for experienced MedSurg RNs with oncology exposure who are comfortable with higher patient ratios and flexible scheduling. Prior travel experience is a plus but not mandatory.
