MS/Telemetry Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel/contract role in Wilmington, North Carolina
• Night shift: 18:45–07:15
• 12-hour shifts, 4 per week
• 13–20 week contract
• Patient ratio: 1:6
• Locals accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Key Clinical Experience

• Med/Surg and telemetry care
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Rapid response/code team support
• IV therapy, central line care, PICC management, phlebotomy
• Blood product administration
• Heparin, insulin, and PCA management
• Respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula
• Wound care and wound vac management
• Renal care including pre/post hemodialysis management
• GI and surgical recovery care, including colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube management

Schedule and Assignment Details

• Every other weekend required
• No call
• Up to 7 days of requested time off allowed
• May be required to float to another campus
• Must be available to work holidays
• May be assigned to storm, hurricane, mass casualty, or disaster response coverage

Preferred

• Charge experience
• ACLS
• Telemetry monitoring experience
• Community hospital experience
• Experience with post-angiogram, post-cardiac surgery, post-MI, CVA, substance withdrawal, CBI, ports, surgical drains, ABGs, tracheostomy care, and bariatric surgery

Unit Information

• Self-scheduling
• 24-hour orientation
• Navy blue or white scrubs
• Pyxis used for medication management
