Labor and Delivery

Overview

• Travel/Contract RN role in Seattle, Washington.
• 26-week assignment.
• Day shift: 4x12 hours, 7:00–19:30.
• 48 hours per week.
• 1 year of experience required.
• High-risk experience required.
• First-time travelers accepted.
• Work every other weekend and holidays as needed.
• Pre-approved time off is reviewed case by case.
• Float required to Post partum / Antepartum and may float to sister facilities that do Mother/Baby.
• EPIC experience is required.
• Electronic fetal monitoring experience is required.
• Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines.
• High-risk, high-volume L&D with all types of cases.
• 4 ORs.
• Average daily census is 15/day, with 500–600 deliveries per month.
• 31 rooms and 31 beds.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Labor and Delivery (1 year of experience)
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
• EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring
• Experience working with High Risk Labor and Delivery patients
• High-risk obstetric experience
• Experience circulating for C-sections
• Experience as an OB circulator
• Experience with newborn assessment
• Experience assisting with circumcision and assessing the site post-op
• Ability to interpret fetal heart rate strips
• Post Partum experience
• Antepartum experience
• Must be able to function as Baby Nurse during delivery and continue newborn care until transfer to post partum.
• Must circulate.
• Must provide newborn care, including eyes, thighs, assessment, and Vit K injections.
• Must be able to work in fast-paced, high-acuity environments.
