Hematology/Oncology Infusion RN

Job Overview

  • Travel/contract RN role in Minneapolis, Minnesota
  • Pediatric hematology-oncology infusion clinic
  • Day shift, 5x8 hours
  • 40 hours per week
  • 16-week assignment
  • 1 opening

Required Qualifications

  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Valid RN license in Minnesota
  • BLS - Basic Life Support
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support
  • Pediatric Infusion experience within the last year
  • 2 years of Pediatric Infusion experience
  • Pediatric Hematology / Oncology experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess pediatric patients before, during, and after chemotherapy/infusion treatments
  • Administer chemotherapy, blood products, and supportive medications
  • Monitor for side effects and adverse reactions
  • Manage central lines and maintain sterile technique
  • Provide pain, symptom, and supportive care
  • Educate patients and families on treatments, side effects, and home care
  • Offer emotional support to children and caregivers
  • Collaborate with oncologists and interdisciplinary teams
  • Document care, medication administration, and patient responses accurately

Additional Requirements

  • Criminal background check within 1 year prior to start
  • Fingerprinting and Minnesota DHS NetStudy clearance process required
  • Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
  • Fit testing within 12 months prior to start
  • Tdap required
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
  • Immunity or vaccination documentation required for measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella
  • Drug test within 1 year prior to start
  • Influenza vaccination documentation required annually
  • Employment application required
  • Must complete facility-required pre-start questionnaires and reviews
