Overview
- Travel/contract RN role in Anchorage, Alaska
- 13-week assignment
- Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:00
- 36 hours per week
- First-timers accepted
- Every other weekend required
- May float within scope to NICU and Peds
- Unit uses Cerner
- Block scheduling is available
- Local candidates are not accepted within 100 miles
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Alaska
- PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
- PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience within the last year
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Must be willing to work 2 of 3 holidays
- Must be culturally sensitive to the Native population
Additional Notes
- Travelers may be assigned PICU patients with an orientee while being checked off for PICU training
- Pediatric floor ratio is 1:4
- PICU ratio is 1:2
- Ventilated patients are usually 1:1
- No on-call requirement
- Guaranteed hours up to 36 per week
