Job Description

• Open to 36 or 48-hour shifts.
• Position in the MS/Tele Cardiac unit.
• Patient Ratio: 1:6 and 1:7.
• Required Experience: Cardiac drip experience (cardizem, tridil, and amiodarone).
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH (National Institutes of Health) Stroke Certification
• Preferred Certification:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• Scheduling: Block scheduling allowed; every other weekend (EOW) is required.
• Compliance Deadline: 1 week prior to start date.
• Vaccination Requirements:

  • COVID-19 vaccination required unless a documented religious or medical exemption is provided.
  • Flu vaccination required unless a documented religious or medical exemption is provided.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Additional Information

• Licensing: Must have an active and in good standing compact or Alabama RN license.
• Travel Restrictions: No local travelers within a 50-mile radius.
• Orientation: 16 hours non-billable for orientation.
• Background Check: Required within 30 days of start.
• References: Proof of 2 clinical references required.
• Health Documents:

  • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray within 1 year of start.
  • Drug testing required (10 panel within a year of start).
  • Annual physical exam required.
• Competencies: Completion of competency exams and facility-specific modules required before orientation.

Required Documentation

• Identification:

  • Driver's License/State ID
  • Social Security Card
• Certifications:

  • BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Certification, and others as applicable.
• Health Records:

  • Vaccination records for Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella.
• Background Check: Must include a 7-year criminal check and verification of education.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Alabama
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum of 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• Cardiac drip experience (including medications such as cardizem, tridil, and amiodarone)
