Job Opportunity: RN Labor and Delivery

Location: Cooperstown, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: Approximately 13 weeks

Unit Overview

Average monthly deliveries: 80–90 (varies by month)
Unit mix: Experienced RNs and new graduate RNs gaining OB experience
Traveler role: Essential to support patient care, especially due to new graduate RNs
Unit features:
- 4 Labor/Delivery/Recovery rooms (each with private bath, shower, spa tub)
- 8 postpartum rooms with refrigerators and fold-out couches
- Operating rooms for Caesarean births
- Special care nursery

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in New York
Minimum of 3 years of Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP) experience, including experience within the last year
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Prior travel nursing experience
Experience in a specialized OB setting

Onboarding Requirements

Core competencies and unit-specific exams/checklists
Health screenings and immunizations including MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, TB test, Varicella, Fit test, Physical/Health statement
Background checks and professional verifications
Driver’s license or state ID

Notes

Shorter contract durations are not ideal due to coverage needs
Additional night shift RN travel contracts may become available

This position is ideal for experienced Labor and Delivery RNs who are comfortable working in a busy OB unit and supporting a team with new graduate nurses. Prior travel experience or specialized OB experience is a plus for candidates with less than 3 years in OB nursing.
