Registered Nurse (RN) Medical/Surgical - Float Pool (36 hours, Days)
Location: Warwick, Rhode Island
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced RN specializing in Medical/Surgical nursing to work in a float pool capacity. This position requires working 36 hours per week on day shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Rhode Island
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum 5 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Completion of CNE Skills Checklist
- Successful completion of CNE Specialty Competency Exam
- Successful completion of CNE Basic EKG Exam
- Successful completion of CNE Pharmacology Exam
- Completion of CNE Core Competencies
Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
- Fingerprinting: Must complete state fingerprinting within 30 days of start (in Rhode Island at Attorney General’s Office)
- Health and Immunization:
- COVID-19 vaccine series or bivalent booster (medical exemptions reviewed prior to start)
- MMR: Proof of 2 immunizations or positive titer for all three components
- Hepatitis B: Complete vaccination series or declination
- Influenza vaccine (optional but recommended during flu season)
- Varicella: Proof of 2 immunizations or positive titer
- Tdap: Proof of immunization within last 10 years
- Tuberculosis screening: Two-step PPD or one IGRA test within the last year; if positive history, negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire required
- N95 Fit Test: Required within one year prior to start; specific approved mask models listed
- Background Checks: Federal, county, national, and statewide criminal background checks including OIG, NSO, GSA/SAM searches within 6 months of start
- Employment Verification: Last 5 years of employment history required
- Additional Documentation:
- Resume or professional profile
- Two professional references (minimum one supervisory)
- Signed confidentiality agreement before start
- Confirmation of assignment and work attestation forms
- Badge photo with neutral background (jpeg format)
- Occupational health clearance form upon offer acceptance
- Annual completion of COVID and flu policy form
