Job Opportunity: RN Labor and Delivery

Location: Austin, Texas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 26 weeks

Required Credentials & Certifications

• Registered Nurse Texas License
• BLS Provider certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
• Advanced Life Support (AHA or American Red Cross accepted)
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Certification

Experience & Education

• Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery/Perinatal experience in a high-volume delivery service
• Preferred 3-5 years of Perinatal clinical experience in a high-volume delivery service
• Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
• S.T.A.B.L.E Program certification preferred
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification preferred

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

• Current license and primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
• Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications must be current and from accepted organizations
• Completion of specialty exam with minimum 80% passing score prior to first assignment and updated every 3 years
• Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics within a year of start and updated yearly
• Various health and immunization requirements including:

  • MMR (two vaccines or positive titer, no declinations accepted)
  • Varicella (two vaccines or proof of immunity, no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap (valid within 10 years, no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
  • Influenza vaccine during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
  • 2-Step PPD or IGRA testing for TB with annual updates
  • Fit test for respiratory protection, preferred prior to start
  • Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
  • 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually

Additional Professional Requirements

• Resume/Profile submission required
• Two professional references required prior to first assignment
• Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others completed within 30 days of assignment and updated annually
• Employment verification for past seven years, updated annually
• Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start
• Driver’s license or state ID (valid, matching address requirements)
• Completion of onboarding education attestation and contract worker onboarding onsite
• Cerner test-out and training checklist with signed attestation required prior to assignment
• Skills checklist to be completed within one year of start and updated annually

Summary

This is a long-term RN Labor and Delivery position in Austin, Texas requiring strong clinical experience in high-volume perinatal settings, multiple certifications, and comprehensive onboarding compliance. Candidates must maintain current licensure, certifications, and health requirements, and complete specialty competency exams and training prior to and during the assignment.
